Join us February 27-28, 2014! The 2014 joint meeting of the Indiana Chapters of the American Fisheries Society and The Wildlife Society will be held February 27 – 28, 2014 at the beautiful Alumni Center at Ball State University. The Alumni Center is a modern multipurpose facility, featuring conference and meeting rooms, a 47-ft glass conservatory, and state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities.

The theme of the 2014 meeting is “Alien Invasion: Combating Invasive Species in Indiana”. Many professionals in the fisheries and wildlife field deal with invasive species on a daily basis and are all too aware of the potential ecological disaster any given invasion species can initiate. What is being done to combat invasive species? What more can we do? What new potential threats are on the horizon? How do we get the public to care? Hopefully, some of these questions and more will be answered as the plenary session will feature federal, university, and non-profit experts on invasive species, discussing their varied roles in educating the public and/or cataloging and combating invasive species, both aquatic and terrestrial.

Accommodations are available at several local hotels and university transportation will be provided to shuttle attendees between the Alumni Center and their hotels. Please contact one of the hotels to reserve your room (roommates are encouraged).
